July at the Avalon Park Arts & Culture Center
Summer 2026 is in full swing at Avalon Park, and the calendar is packed. From bold new exhibitions at the Arts & Culture Center to Bob Ross-inspired painting nights at the Marketplace, the ACC is bringing summer art fun to Avalon Park.
Riding the retro summer rewind wave
The Marketplace at Avalon Park launched Retro Summer Rewind earlier this summer, and the series is continuing strong through the season. Designed to bring the community together through nostalgia, live music, artmaking and good company, Retro Summer Rewind has become a weekly reason to get outside and connect with neighbors.
The Avalon Park Arts & Culture Community has been partnering with the Marketplace to bring arts and crafts nights every second and last Wednesday of the month. This July, join a Bob Ross inspired Paint Night on Wednesday, July 8th. For a more one to one session, learn how to make pixel art with LEGOS on the 29th of this month.
All Retro Summer Rewind events are open to the community and take place at the Marketplace at Avalon Park. Follow the Marketplace on social media for the full schedule and updates as new events are added.
New Kids and Adult Classes at the Arts & Culture Center
On Saturday, July 18 from 1 to 3 PM, internationally distributed artist Jim Russell returns to the Avalon Park Arts & Culture Center for an Acrylic Painting for Beginners workshop. This class is perfect for those looking to learn the basic techniques of acrylic painting or simply want to sharpen your skills. All materials are included and every participant walks away with their own finished painting.
Wonder Arte’s Adventure Island Camp is coming to the Avalon Park Arts & Culture Center from July 20 to July 24, offering a full week of hands-on art camp for young creators. Activities include mixed media, drawing, canvas painting, screen printing, collage, clay and games led by the Wonder Arte team in a fun environment.
