Avalon Park Arts and Culture Center Partners with Thuyền Mây Productions to Bring Vietnamese & Asian Cultural Classes and Experiences
Orlando, FL (October 18, 2023) – The Avalon Park Arts and Culture Center is thrilled to announce an exciting partnership with Thuyền Mây Productions, which will bring Vietnamese Cultural Classes and Experiences to Downtown Avalon Park in east Orlando. The group will meet every Sunday, 2:00 – 5:00 pm beginning October 22nd at the Avalon Park Arts and Culture Center where there is an open invitation to all who wish to explore this enchanting world. Thuyền Mây Productions will also host a series of cultural events on the first Sunday of each month at 1:00 pm which will include a different perspective into the Vietnamese Culture through activities, such as story time and cultural classes. Guided by their mission to connect friends and families through culture and diversity, this collaboration brings snapshots of Vietnam and Asia to the east Orlando community.
“Thuyền Mây Productions,” which translates to “cloud boat,” is an organization that elegantly navigates through communities, contributing the mesmerizing art of dance, an enriching cultural education, and the preservation of the beautiful Vietnamese heritage.
From the moment Thuyền Mây Productions and the Avalon Park Arts and Culture Center first crossed paths, it was evident that they had found the perfect synergy. Both entities hold family and community at their core, making this partnership an exciting venture that is set to create waves in the heart of Avalon Park.
“We were introduced to Thuyền Mây Productions through our partnership with Asia Trend in the addition of the Spring Fest and Moon Over Avalon celebrations to the Avalon Park event calendar,” said Alexander Lee, Volunteer Coordinator at the Avalon Park Arts and Culture Center.
Mai-Huong Nguyen, the president of Thuyền Mây Productions, personifies the organization’s fundamental principles. She felt an immediate connection and sense of community upon discovering a community she deeply resonated with, one that she was eager to support and foster connections within.
The Avalon Park Arts and Culture Center, with its vision of sharing, connecting, and experiencing diverse forms of art and culture, stood out as the perfect destination. It embodies the idea of a place where various artistic and cultural expressions converge to be shared with the community. This choice was a natural alignment with the mission and values of the Avalon Park Arts and Culture Center, making it feel like home for Thuyền Mây Productions.
“My passion is always giving back by sharing with and serving the community through culture, dance, and education,” said Mai-Huong Nguyen.
