Terri Watkins
Terri Watkins is a wildlife and landscape photographer.
Born in the rolling hills of Kentucky but raised in the bayous of Louisiana, Terri has been surrounded by nature’s beauty all her life. She relocated to Florida for college and where she met her husband, Jon, whom she’s been married to for 25 years. They have 2 young adult daughters who are aspiring to be a cinematographer and a film producer.
Her love and fascination with animals and wildlife started at a young age. She would spend hours out on the bayous of Louisiana with her dad and never realizing much time had passed before they’d have to head home. With her dad by her side as her teacher her love for photography began. She started enjoying photography in high school and entered a few of the local competitions. Then had to put it on pause for college and be a stay-at-home mom to their two daughters and enjoy being there for them.
Now that her daughters are older, she’s jumped back in and reclaimed the passion for capturing the beauty of nature and wildlife. Although her photography passion began in the film days, she’s enjoyed the new journey of digital photography. She’s enjoyed getting back to nature and watching the beauty around her and again can be out walking for hours without realizing how much time has passed. Her hope is that her passion shows through in her images and brings to light the immense beauty and need to care for our world.
Summer Exhibit:
Summer, the warmth of the sun hitting your skin hugging you with sunshine. The bright beauty of our surroundings draws us in for a closer look. That is what I think of when I look at these images. The roses draw you in a bit closer to see the beauty that is held within. The fragrant smell of it makes you feel warm and at ease inside.
