Julie Leisher is an Orlando-based artist who specializes in watercolor. She has extensive experience as a high school science teacher and has incorporated art into her classroom for decades. Since 2020 she has focused on her own passion for watercolor and tends to be influenced by her background in environmental science where many of the subjects of her pieces are flora and fauna. She finds inspiration in the colors of nature and particularly the way light influences a scene. As a native Floridian, she mainly enjoys finding inspiration around her locally: from the spanish moss and cypress trees to the various beetles and butterflies.
