Joan Fonseca
My life of being an artist started as a child who loved to draw horses as well as collect horse statues. I turned out to be natural.
Fast forward to 2005 when I had back surgery and could not work during that recovery period. Art became my focus at that time, and it greatly assisted in my healing process. That time also allowed me to place several of my mixed media paintings in some small local galleries in Orlando and Sanford while I did occasional shows in various other venues. My most popular paintings proved to be my Doll House series. In 2007 I returned to work until 2018 when I found out that I needed additional reconstruction surgery. Ouch!
My recovery was another 2-year process. In 2020, when the Covid lockdown occurred. I took time to take online classes in abstract painting and composition with an art coach.
Now I have a website and I’m showing in two galleries and venturing out to periodic art venues such as the Visual Fringe and Avalon Park Arts & Culture Center. I sign my art “Joan A” for my childhood name because that’s where it all began.
