February is all about celebrating community and spreading love, and the Avalon Park Arts and Culture Community is excited to highlight the amazing ways our neighbors have come together to make a difference.
January brought heartwarming success with our Suitcase Drive, where donations poured in to support those in need. Thanks to your generosity, we were able to collect suitcases to distribute to local families and individuals, providing them with much-needed resources. As we close out this impactful initiative, we extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed. Together, we’ve shown what it means to “Love Local.”
Continuing with the spirit of giving, February’s ChariTea event will benefit UCF PALS (Providing Autism Links & Support), an organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals on the autism spectrum. Hosted by Frances Mendez, this ChariTea will take place on February 8th from 1-3 pm. Join us for a delightful afternoon of tea, community, and purpose. Later that evening, immerse yourself in the wonders of art with our Celestial Wonders Art Reception and Guided Paint Class, happening February 8th from 6-8 pm. Explore breathtaking works of art, meet the artists, and express your creativity in a fun, guided painting session. Whether you’re an experienced artist or picking up a brush for the first time, this event is sure to inspire.
Wonder Arte is kicking off February with exciting opportunities for young creators! The Wonder Arte Wednesday Classes run from February 12th through March 5th, offering four classes for $95. Open enrollment is available, and sessions take place every Wednesday from 5-6 pm, making it the perfect midweek activity for kids to explore their artistic side.
Additionally, don’t miss the Wonder Arte Teddy Bear Stuffing Party on February 22nd, a delightful event for children ages 3 and up. For $35, participants can stuff and create their own cuddly teddy bear from 10:30 am to 12 pm. It’s a fun and heartwarming way to create memories with your little ones.
The fun begins right at the start of the month with the “Case of the Missing Valentines” event on February 1st from 1-2 pm. Bring the family to solve a whimsical Valentine’s Day mystery and enjoy a unique storytelling adventure that’s perfect for all ages.
